Africa Safari Escapes Ltd was founded on a single conviction: that the finest African safari is one that feels entirely, unmistakably yours.
Our Story
Africa Safari Escapes Ltd was founded in 2019 by a Ugandan-born envronental scientist and former guide who spent eight years leading expeditions across East and Southern Africa before deciding that the industry needed something different.
Too many operators, our founder felt, were selling Africa as a product — a checklist of animals, a sequence of lodges, a package to be consumed. He wanted to build something that treated each journey as a singular act of discovery, shaped entirely around the person making it.
Today, Africa Safari Escapes Ltd is a small, deliberately unhurried company. We have a team of twelve specialists, each with deep personal knowledge of the destinations they curate. We do not have a call centre. Every enquiry is handled by a human being who has stood in the places they are describing.
We are proud members of ATTA (African Travel & Tourism Association) and AITO (Association of Independent Tour Operators), and we hold full ATOL protection for all flight-inclusive packages. We are also founders of MAB Services Mondiaux, a Global Services company with experience in document management, travel and tourism services.

Founder & East Africa Specialist
James
Born in Nairobi, our founder spent fifteen years as a guide in the Masai Mara and Serengeti before establishing Africa Safari Escapes Ltd. He holds a degree in Wildlife Management and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Southern Africa Specialist
Trisha
Trisha grew up in Zimbabwe and has guided in Botswana, Zambia, and South Africa for over a decade. She is one of the few specialists in the UK with a FGASA Level 3 qualification — the highest field guide accreditation in Africa.
Primate & Uganda Specialist
Alex
Alex has led over 200 gorilla treks in Bwindi and is one of the most experienced Uganda specialists in the industry. He speaks Luganda, Swahili, and English, and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of East African primates.
